BERLIN (AP) — Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman scored to send Bayern Munich back to the top of the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win over last-place Hertha Berlin on Sunday.Gnabry made the breakthrough with a diving header to Joshua Kimmich’s cross in the 69th minute and Coman sealed the win 10 minutes later, again thanks to a fine pass from Kimmich. It was enough to send Bayern one point clear of Borussia Dortmund with four rounds left. Dortmund, held to a 1-1 draw in Bochum on Friday, must now hope for a favor from Bayern’s remaining opponents — Werder Bremen, Schalke, Leipzig and Cologne — if it is to end the Bavarian powerhouse’s 10-year reign as German champion.Hertha had goalkeeper Oliver Christensen to thank for avoiding a heavier loss. The visitors were not expected to cause too many problems for Thomas Tuchel’s side after conceding 10 goals in their previous three games — all defeats. Hertha remains the prime candidate for relegation. It’s bottom of the league and six points f...White Sox OF Luis Robert sits with right hamstring tightness

CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. was out of the starting lineup Sunday, one day after he was pulled from a loss to Tampa Bay because he failed to hustle up the line on a grounder.Robert jogged to first after he bounced to pitcher Calvin Faucher in the first inning Saturday, leading to a round of boos from the home crowd. First-year manager Pedro Grifol replaced Robert with a pinch hitter in the second. The White Sox went on to a 12-3 loss to the Rays, extending their slide to 10 in a row.Robert said he was trying to play through some right hamstring tightness and should have let Grifol know how he was feeling. Grifol said Robert’s hamstring tightness — not his lack of hustle on the first-inning play — was the reason he was out of the lineup Sunday.“When we are struggling as a ballclub like that, I think it’s human nature for them to want to be a part of us getting back on track. And I think he felt like he could play and help us,” Grifol said before the s...Lorient stuns 10-man PSG 3-1 in French league

PARIS (AP) — Paris Saint-Germain will have to work harder — much harder — for a record 11th French league title after Lorient stunned the defending champion 3-1 on Sunday. Second-place Marseille could cut PSG’s lead to five points with a win over Auxerre later Sunday.PSG supporters were unhappy with the players’ lack of effort and booed them off the field at halftime and again after the final whistle. The hosts were down to 10 men after Achraf Hakimi received a second yellow card for a stamp on Darlin Yongwa in the 20th minute. The Morocco right back also got booked for a late tackle on Romain Faivre in the fifth minute. Lorient capitalized on a spell of possession to take the lead in the 15th with a sliding effort from Enzo Le Fee into the roof of the net.Kylian Mbappe equalized with a poacher’s goal in the 29th when Yvon Mvogo had a lapse in concentration. The Lorient goalkeeper put the ball on the ground, thinking he had a free kick, but the referee had only waved to play on. DES MOINES, Iowa — Fuel stations throughout the country will be able to sell gasoline blended with 15% ethanol during the summer under an emergency waiver issued by the Environmental Protection Agency in a move that could reduce prices at the pump and boost demand for the Midwest-based ethanol industry. The EPA framed its decision as a way to reduce gasoline prices at a time of market supply uncertainty because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The agency said its action also encourages U.S. energy independence and supports American agriculture and manufacturing.“Allowing E15 sales during the summer driving season will not only help increase fuel supply, but support American farmers, strengthen U.S. energy security, and provide relief to drivers across the country,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a statement Friday. Most gasoline sold in the U.S. is blended with 10% ethanol and the higher 15% blend hasn’t been allowed in the summer because of concerns i...Aaron Judge expected to be out of lineup for start of Guardians series

ARLINGTON — Aaron Judge continues to make progress on his strained right hip, but the star slugger’s absence will likely extend into the Yankees’ upcoming homestand, manager Aaron Boone said.Boone doesn’t expect Judge to play in Monday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians in the Bronx but says he could return to the lineup later in the week.“If he doesn’t go on the [injured list], probably the best case is sometime in that Cleveland series,” Boone said Sunday.Judge got banged up Wednesday on an awkward head-first slide into third base against the Minnesota Twins. He remained in that game and started Thursday’s road series opener against the Texas Rangers but left in the fourth inning after two at-bats.The reigning American League MVP hasn’t played since, and an MRI on Friday revealed a mild strain to the top of his hip. The Yankees hope to determine by Monday whether Judge will require a stint on the injured list.“H...Latest news
