Kiszla vs. Gabriel: Is tanking for Caleb Williams a viable option for the Broncos?
Published Mon, 25 Nov 2024 04:02:51 GMT
Kiz: Tanking is just another word for nothing left to lose. After getting embarrassed in the Huggy Bear Bowl by Nathaniel and the Jets, your Denver Broncos’ record is 1-4. They might not be favored to win another game until Christmas Eve, when the New England Patriots visit Colorado. So the Broncos are squarely in the hunt for the No. 1 draft pick and USC quarterback Caleb Williams. Can Denver tank for Caleb without insulting both players in the locker room and paying fans in the stands?Gabriel: Well, it would have been easier had they not overcome the 28-7 deficit to beat Chicago. And they probably can’t do it without insulting players and fans alike. But if the Broncos do go into full to-the-studs rebuild mode, they’d likely try to trade several of the veterans who have experienced the most losing in the locker room. The short-timers would be gone or see the writing on the wall, and the ones who are going to be around a while may recognize the reality of the situation. SANTA CLARA — The conversation around 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy must change. To continue to talk about Purdy like a novelty — a plucky upstart with boyish looks who was once the last pick in the NFL Draft and was airdropped onto the NFL’s best roster — is to discredit what he has done.Or, more specifically, what he hasn’t done. This man hasn’t lost.Purdy has been the 49ers top quarterback for 14 games. He has won 13 of those, with the sole exception being the 2023 NFC Championship Game in which his elbow exploded. At what point does this become uncanny? At what point does the NFL world admit that Purdy is something much more impressive than a novelty? At what point do we start talking about the 49ers’ quarterback as the NFL’s MVP?Related ArticlesSan Francisco 49ers | Dak Prescott calls Cowboys’ loss to 49ers ‘most humbling game’ he’s played San Francisco 49ers | Fred Warner, 49ers defense make statement in dominatin...After Oprah Winfrey fumed over Maui fund backlash, Dwayne Johnson admits errors: ‘I get it’

Dwayne Johnson acknowledged on Sunday that he, at least, could have handled things better when he and Oprah Winfrey asked their millions of fans to donate to a fund they started to help people impacted by August’s deadly wildfires in Maui. That’s more than Winfrey has managed to say about the fierce backlash the two faced after they launched the People’s Fund of Maui in late August. “I get it and I completely understand, and I could’ve been better,” Johnson said in an Instagram video Sunday, telling his 392 million Instagram followers that he understands why they were angry. “And next time I will be better.”When Johnson and Winfrey announced the fund, they said they each were donating $5 million. On social media, these sums were seen as negligible, considering that the two very wealthy stars are worth a combined estimated $3.6 billion.Johnson, himself worth around $800 million, acknowledged that “money ain’t falling out of t...‘Queer-ennial’ art exhibition in San Jose showcases Latinx resilience

Madyson Fitzgerald | (TNS) Stateline.orgBack in March, Hawaii state Sen. Chris Lee introduced legislation urging the U.S. Congress to consider the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence technologies. But he didn’t write it. Artificial intelligence did.Lee instructed ChatGPT, an AI-powered system trained to follow instructions and carry out conversations, to write a piece of legislation that highlights the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI. Within moments, it produced a resolution. Lee copied and pasted the entire text without changing a word. The resolution was adopted in April with bipartisan support.“It was making a statement that using AI to write legislation — a whole law — was perhaps the single biggest thing we could do to demonstrate what the good and the bad of AI could be,” Lee, a Democrat, said in an interview with Stateline.ChatGPT, which has received reams of national coverage this year, is only one example of artificial intelligence.
